Man rushed to hospital after Mayfair shooting

A 21-year-old is in critical condition after being shot Wednesday on the 7300 block of Frankford Avenue.

A 21-year-old man was critically injured Wednesday night after being shot in Mayfair, police said.

Officers rushed the man to the hospital following the shooting, which occurred around 7:45 p.m. on the 7300 block of Frankford Avenue (near Bleigh Avenue). He was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and listed in critical condition, according to police.

The man was shot in the chest and hip, authorities said. Police said the shooter was last seen heading west on Bleigh. 

Authorities described the suspect as a black man in his 20s, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a black face mask under his eyes, police said.

No arrests have been made as of Tuesday. The shooting is being investigated by Northeast Detectives. ••
